NWEA Testing

During the 2022-23 school year, Norwalk Public Schools will give NWEA Measure of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments. Students in grades K-10 will be tested in mathematics and reading. Tests are given online, up to three times per year; fall, winter and spring.

MAP is a tool that helps teachers monitor student progress throughout the school year. MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your student’s level of learning. The assessments measure growth and readiness. They show educators what a student is “ready to learn”.

Designed by the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA), MAP assessments are aligned with Connecticut Core Standards and Smarter Balanced tests. With MAP tests, we receive detailed, accurate information about your student’s growth.
