With family gatherings over the holidays and the rise of the highly contagious Omicron variant, there is concern that Norwalk’s numbers will continue to remain high throughout the month of January. To help keep our students and staff safe, we ask that parents please keep their children home if they are not feeling well, or exhibiting any signs of illness such as fever, headache, sore throat, stomach issues, congestion, etc. If you send your child to school while they are exhibiting symptoms, they will be sent home. These students will not be able to return to school for 10 days or until a negative Covid test is provided to the school nurse. The types of tests accepted for students are: PCR, rapid antigen, or a rapid home test. If using a home test, NPS requires a photo of the test, with confirmation of student’s name and date, as well as a visible parent/guardian signature, on a piece of paper, next to the test.

Con las reuniones familiares durante las vacaciones de invierno y el aumento de la variante Omicron altamente contagiosa, existe la preocupación de que los números de Norwalk continúen siendo altos durante todo el mes de Enero.

Para ayudar a mantener seguros a nuestros estudiantes y al personal, les pedimos a los padres que mantengan a sus hijos en casa si no se sienten bien o si muestran algún signo de enfermedad como fiebre, dolor de cabeza, dolor de garganta, problemas estomacales, congestión, etc. Si su hijo va a la escuela mientras presenta síntomas, lo enviarán a casa. Estos estudiantes no podrán regresar a la escuela por 10 días o hasta que la enfermera de la escuela reciba una prueba de Covid negativa. Los tipos de pruebas que se aceptan para estudiantes son: PCR, antígeno rápido o prueba rápida casera. Si usa una prueba casera, NPS requiere una foto de la prueba, con la confirmación del nombre del estudiante y la fecha, así como una firma visible del padre/tutor, en una hoja de papel, al lado de la prueba.
