Welcome Back to Norwalk Public Schools

Dr. Alexandra Estrella: Welcome Back to Norwalk Public Schools for 2022-2023 School Year

A message from Superintendent Dr. Alexandra Estrella --

I’m so excited to welcome back all our students to Norwalk Public Schools for the 2022-2023 school year. I enjoyed seeing many students’ smiling faces during the first week, and I look forward to interacting with everyone as the year continues.

As a mother with children in the district, it’s heartening to see the incredible growth and development of my own two children. Our amazing teachers challenge them every day to do their best work so they can be future ready for whatever they choose to pursue after graduation.

We have so many wonderful things happening in our schools this year. We continue to expand students’ choices to learn more about what interests them most and to provide them with the best facilities to make those discoveries.

We’re also excited to fully launch our Future Ready programs that will help more of our students graduate from high school. We want all our students to have the opportunity to further pursue their education in college or to jump into the workforce and start their careers.

We know our students are capable of incredible things, and they should be given every chance to make their dreams a reality.

Looking around the district, we have a lot of great projects happening that will bring Norwalk Public Schools into the 21st century. Our students and staff at Jefferson Marine Science Elementary School were thrilled to walk into their new building this year, and Concord Magnet School was just as impressed with their new home at the Ponus Ridge campus.

And after more than 40 years, the South Norwalk community once again has a neighborhood school. These kids will no longer have to get on a long bus ride each morning to go to school, and their families can be a bigger part of their academic experience with the school right in their own backyard.

It’s an incredibly exciting time in the Norwalk Public Schools both in and out of the classroom, and we can’t wait to see what more we can accomplish together. See you all soon!
